O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

The o’level subject combination for educational management are English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences. The grades obtained from all these subjects must be at least a credit or higher grade. This means than the applicant must have nothing less than a C6 in his/her SSCE(WAEC/NECO). Any grade less than this is not eligible to apply for educational management.

~~University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) accepts five ‘O’ Level credits in GCE/SSCE/NECO/ TCII/ Equivalent, to include English Language, Mathematics, and any three other Arts/Social Science/ Science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

~~Lagos State University (LASU) requires a credit pass in the candidate’s teaching subject. The teaching subjects includes Economics, Geography, Political Science Government, Business Administration or Business Studies and Accounting.

~~University of Ibadan (UI) accepts five ‘O’ Level credit passes at one sitting to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

Knowing the right subjects combination for the institution you’re applying for will save you from the hassles associated with gaining admission. Having said this, it is important to remind you all that Use of English is compulsory for all candidates writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This is so irrespective of the course you are applying for.

JAMB subject combination for educational management course includes use of English, Economics, Mathematics and one other Social Science/Arts subject.

However some universities may offer waivers. Waivers for educational management course in some universities is listed below:

~~University of Benin (UNIBEN) accepts ;

a. Management Economics: Economics, Mathematics and one other Social Sciences/Arts Subject.

b. Management Political Science and Public Administration: Government or History, one Social Science subject and any other subject.

~~University of Ilorin(UNILORIN) requires use of English and any three others in Art/Social Sciences/Science subjects.

~~University of Ibadan (UI) accepts use of English Language, the subject of specialisation and one each from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences.

~~Lagos State University (LASU) requires candidates’ teaching subject or any other subject where in this case, the candidates’ teaching subject is Economics.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

Direct Entry Admission process involves gaining admission without using JAMB. It involves gaining admission using a higher certificate or grades( often referred to as A’LEVEL).

Each university in Nigeria has their special requirements when it comes to direct entry admission requirements for any particular course, in this case the course is Educational Management. Below are some of the requirements for gaining admission to study educational management via direct entry (D.E).

~~ Lagos State University (LASU) requires two ‘A’ Level passes or NCE merit to include the candidate’s teaching subject. The teaching subjects are Economics, Geography, Political Science or Government, Business Administration or Business Studies and Accounting. Does not accept ND or HND.

~~ UNILORIN accepts two “A” Level Passes in GCE/IJMB/Equivalent to include at least one teaching subject in Art/Social Sciences/Science.

Note – UNILORIN gives preference to NCE holders.

~~ University of Ibadan (UI) does not accept TC II after 1981. UI also requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics for all Science based combinations and Economics while ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics is required for Social Sciences.

~~ (Ekiti State University) EKSU accepts NCE with a minimum of two passes or merit in addition to O ‘ level requirements. A pass in General English at NCE level is accepted in lieu of required credit pass in English Language at O ‘level. Two A level Passes in relevant subjects in addition to O level requirements. OND Certificate or Diploma Certificate from a recognized University in Nigeria.
